2. African Elephant: The African elephant is the largest land animal and is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Habitat loss, poaching for ivory, and human-elephant conflict are the main threats to the species, which has seen a significant decline in population in recent years.

3. Leatherback Sea Turtle: The leatherback sea turtle is the largest of all sea turtles and is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. The species is threatened by habitat loss, egg collection, and accidental capture in fishing nets.

4. Bengal Tiger: The Bengal tiger is the most numerous tiger subspecies, but it is still classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. Habitat loss, poaching for their skin and bones, and human-tiger conflict are the main threats to the species.

5. Blue Whale: The blue whale is the largest animal on Earth and is classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red List. Commercial whaling, pollution, and climate change are the main threats to the species, which has seen a significant decline in population in recent years.

Efforts to protect and conserve endangered species include habitat restoration, captive breeding programs, and conservation education and awareness campaigns. Governments, NGOs, and individuals all play a role in protecting endangered species and ensuring their survival for future generations.
