Childhood
Childhood, oh sweet and fleeting time,
Full of wonder, full of rhyme,
Days spent running, laughing free,
Careless, innocent, full of glee.
Memories of sunshine, grass, and trees,
Of scraped knees, and sticky treats,
Of secret hideaways, and make-believe,
Of endless summers, never to leave.
Childhood, a time of growth and change,
Of learning, exploring, feeling strange,
Of discovering new worlds, and finding joy,
Of dreaming big dreams, without a ploy.
Oh, to relive those precious years,
To chase butterflies, and forget our fears,
To hold hands with friends, and skip along,
To sing, dance, and hum a happy song.
Childhood, a chapter we'll never forget,
Full of magic, innocence, and yet,
As we grow older, and time slips away,
We'll cherish those memories, day by day.
For childhood shapes us, in ways we cannot see,
It's a time of innocence, and possibility,
So let us remember, and hold onto that time,
For childhood memories, are truly divine.
