Content words and grammatical words and their role in a sentence.

Content Words and Grammatical Words: As said before, those words are stressed that are important for its meaning.

For example, in a sentence 'I love you' , the speaker would stress the word 'I' if he meant that he and none else loves 'you'. Similarly he would stress the word 'you' if he meant that he loves 'you' only and none else.

I and none else is loved)
