Sub : Letter to informing about the cut down several trees in your locality to build a new flat.

Sir,

I am writing this letter to express a great concern of mine reading the several cutting of trees by the construction company. I am an environmentalists and I think this to be a grave problem. I am aware that trees must be cut in order to build the new buildings; however there is no system in place to replace the cut trees.

My letter was also a plea for Mayor’s office to implement a policy or ordinance requiring property owners get permission before removing old, established trees.

The mayor’s office responded that ‘private property owners have the right to maintain their property and make the decision to remove trees as needed or desired…’ .The response also noted the city has landscape regulations tied to a comprehensive plan including green initiatives.

I appreciate the sentiments, but homeowners must ask permission to erect a small shed in their backyards. Surely, a tree, which takes decades to grow and provides life sustaining benefits to all other living things, is equality deserving of our oversight and protection.

This prevents detrimental effects on the land such as landfall and erosion. It also ensures clean air by preventing the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, especially with all the cars driving on the road.

To conclude, when there are tress being cut, there need to program in place to replace them elsewhere. While lives are a priority, we will have no life if we get rid of the trees! No matter in what small number areas are cleaned up of trees, foliage and undergrowth to reduce the privacy of the homeless.
